Challenge Day 7: The Ziglars

You know the name Zig ZIglar: a beloved, motivational genius who helped millions of people around the world experience unprecedented success.

Do you know how he ended most of his seminars? He would issue an invitation for the attendees who wanted to know “the rest of the story” to a breakout session where he shared his number-one passion: his faith.

Today, Mr. Ziglar’s children, Cindy Ziglar Oates, Julie Ziglar Norman, and Tom Ziglar work together through Ziglar, Inc. to continue their father’s legacy.

All three of Mr. Ziglar’s children have vivid memories of their father’s example of leadership in spiritual matters, and they will each be sharing some of those special memories in today’s challenge message.

Mr. Ziglar made no apologies for faith, and it became a key part of his legacy.

In an exclusive video from Ziglar Family, Cindy, Julie, and Tom recall how their father’s faith influenced their family’s life and then discover how they’ll challenge your family to grow stronger, as well.

Watch here.

Challenge Day 6: Dave Ramsey

What’s the #1 cause of stress in relationships?

How about divorce?

MONEY.

That’s why we’re so excited to share something awesome with you…it’s a video from Dave Ramsey.

Challenge Day 5: Brian Buffini

Soccer practice. Ballet lessons. Homework. Church activities. PTO meetings. Running errands.

Does this look like your typical “after school” time?

Chances are, it does.

And the unfortunate side effect of this busy of a schedule is the elimination of family mealtime, a chance to sit down together and connect at the end of the day.

But it doesn’t have to be that way, according to internationally recognized trainer, motivational speaker, and author Brian Buffini.

As impressive as those credentials are, Brian would be the first to tell you that what he is most proud of is his role as husband to his amazing wife, Beverly, and father to their six awesome kids.

Even while his kids were participating in every sport and extracurricular activity under the sun, Brian and his family still made it a priority to, as he says, break bread together.

In today’s challenge, Brian will be sharing how he and his family do three important things at each mealtime:

  • Share laughter
  • Share life
  • Share their heart

Challenge Day 4: Tony Dungy

What if you could sit down with a Super Bowl winning coach…

…and talk to him about…family?

Yes, family.

If anyone knows what it’s like to try to balance family and a career it’s Tony Dungy.

Yes, the former NFL player and Super Bowl championship coach…who also happens to be a proud father of 10.

He recently shot a video that I wanted to share with you here.

You probably recognize Tony as the most successful head coach in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ history, as well as the first African American head coach to earn a Super Bowl victory, which he did with the Indianapolis Colts.

Tony is also a #1 New York Times bestselling author of several books, including Uncommon Marriage, in which he and his wife Lauren share what it takes to build a marriage that lasts.

He’s involved with numerous charitable organizations, including All-Pro Dad, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Boys & Girls Clubs, among others.

He retired from coaching in 2009 and now serves as a studio analyst for NBC’s Football Night in America. You can probably imagine just how busy his schedule can be and how intentional he has to be about integrating work and family life.

You can probably imagine just how busy his schedule can be and how intentional he has to be about integrating work and family life.

And that’s what Tony is bringing to you today: his advice for finding ways to connect with your children even when your work life seems crazy busy.

Tony has an innovative and effective idea for bringing work and home together that he learned years ago from his own father.

Challenge Day 2: Hyatts

Is conversation a lost art today?

Look around the restaurant next time you’re out to eat, and see how many people actually have their smartphones either in their hand or on the table – face up. Or how many teens are at dinner with their family but are nose-down into their social media accounts. It’s kind of depressing.

Or how many teens are at dinner with their family but are nose-down into their social media accounts. It’s kind of depressing.

Is this the way it’s destined to be from now on? It doesn’t have to be.

It doesn’t have to be.

Today you’ll be hearing from Michael and Gail Hyatt. Michael is one of the foremost experts on communication in our digital world.

He’s the author of Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World, a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestseller and consistently has more than one million page views per month through his blog at MichaelHyatt.com.

Michael’s work, as he’d be the first to tell you, is not the most important thing in his life. That position belongs to his family. He’s been happily married for 38 years to his wife, Gail. They have five daughters, four sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren, so they know more than a little about family communication!

Today they will share with you the one rule they implemented at mealtime that had a profound effect on the way their family connected with each other. And it’s so simple, you can make the same change today!
